Jean-Jacques Béguin – Brief profile
1953 Born in Geneva, Switzerland
1957-72 Studies in Switzerland, introduction to photography and dark room work
1973-83 Develops a career in music, suspends photography
1981 Founds a family, leaves the musical milieu and turns toward other
activities in the domain of events and painting, publishes a book on
orchids
1993 With his wife, founds Jaysquare Associates. Commercial
graphic artist and one of the first Webmasters in Switzerland.
1997 Arrives in the Aude, Languedoc-Roussillon (France), renovates old houses.
2002 Returns to photography, digital. Sources of inspiration include
Boubat, Ronnis, Erwitt, Doineau, Hockney, Appelt, Parr and a good
number of other photographers, architects and writers. His work
is inscribed in the tradition of photographers who conjugate
documentation and humanism.
2004 First serial photography and exhibits.
